Station styles and the custom builder

A station style sets the whole broadcast look at once — banner colors, typography, ticker treatment, badge styling. All five are original designs: deliberately no real network names or logos, because a fake real-network chyron isn't parody. Pick the archetype that fits the joke.

The five styles

  • Classic Red (free) — the archetypal urgent red lower third. Maximum "we interrupt this program" energy; works for everything.
  • A8C News (free) — a sober evening-bulletin parody: deep navy bars, a circular black "A8C" bug. Its restraint makes extremely mundane stories funnier.
  • BNN 24/7 (Pro) — rolling-crisis cable parody: floating red tabs, the "BNN" logotype and timestamp inside the white headline bar, light crawl with a show box. Best for escalating sagas and multi-part ticker jokes.
  • FAUX Alert (Pro) — opinion-cable parody: two-tone BREAKING/NEWS tab, navy "FAUX NEWS" logo box and a red alert bar that carries the crawl.
  • Markets (Pro) — financial-TV parody: black wordmark box, calm two-line sentence-case headline, amber crawl, orange time chip.
  • Markets (Pro) — a financial desk look. Made for anything with numbers: fantasy leagues, split bills, screen-time reports.
  • Retro 80s (Pro) — chunky retro broadcast graphics. Great for nostalgia bits.

Free accounts get Classic Red and A8C News; Pro unlocks all five plus the custom builder. Every station name is a parody (A8C, BNN) — picking a style also sets its channel bug, which you can edit to anything.

The custom station builder (Pro)

Build your own station instead of using an archetype:

  • Colors — pick the banner and accent colors; the ticker and badge styling follow.
  • Banner text — change the "BREAKING NEWS" banner itself. "DEVELOPING STORY", "EXCLUSIVE", "KDAD 7 ALERT" — whatever the bit needs.

A custom station is how a one-off joke becomes a running series: same look, new headline every week.

The channel bug

The channel bug is the small station mark in the corner — and it's editable on every plan, in every style. Set it to your own station name ("GCN", "MOM TV", "CHAT 24"). It's the detail people screenshot.

Clock and LIVE badge

Every style includes the ticking clock and the pulsing LIVE badge — they're part of what makes the frame read as a real broadcast. See the anatomy of a viral fake news video for why they matter.
