Refund Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

1. Overview

Breaking News Maker offers a free plan and a paid Pro subscription ($4.99/month, billed through PayPal). This policy explains how refunds work for Pro. We want you to be happy with what you pay for, and we aim to be fair and straightforward when something goes wrong.

2. 14-day goodwill window

If you subscribe to Pro and it isn't right for you, you can request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked. This applies to your first charge only; renewals are covered by the sections below.

3. Cancelling and renewals

Pro renews automatically each month through PayPal. You can cancel at any time — from your PayPal account (Settings → Payments → Automatic payments) or by emailing us. When you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again. We don't generally refund a renewal that has already been billed, but if you were charged for a renewal you didn't intend and contact us within 7 days of the charge without having used Pro features in that period, we'll refund it.

4. Billing errors and broken service

Duplicate charges, charges after cancellation, and other billing errors are refunded in full — just tell us. And if a Pro feature is broken or unavailable for an extended period and we can't fix it within a reasonable time, you're entitled to a refund proportional to the affected time, or a full refund if the issue makes Pro unusable for you.

5. Cases we can't refund

We're unable to issue refunds for:

  • requests made more than 14 days after the first payment (outside sections 3 and 4);
  • partial billing periods after you cancel — access simply continues to the end of the period;
  • accounts suspended or terminated for violating our Terms of Service.

6. How to request a refund

Email hello@breakingnewsmaker.com from the address linked to your account, and include the date and amount of the charge. We reply to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are returned through PayPal to your original payment method; depending on PayPal and your bank, it can take 5–10 business days for the funds to appear.

7. Disputes

Please contact us before opening a PayPal dispute — we'll almost always resolve it faster. Opening a dispute without contacting us first may result in your account being suspended while it's reviewed.

8. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under consumer protection law in your country, including mandatory cooling-off periods and remedies for faulty digital services. Where local law gives you more than this policy does, local law applies.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as plans evolve; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Changes won't retroactively affect purchases made before they took effect.
